Renowned for their innovative, boundary-breaking approach to sustainable catering and events, Social Pantry are well on their way to becoming the first zero waste catering company. Founder, Alex Head, has grown Social Pantry into an industry disruptor with sustainability is at the forefront of everything they do.

At PACE, Alex, founder of Social Pantry, alongside chef Sarah, will be hosting an inspirational workshop on zero-waste hosting, as well as an evening feast (see our Food & Nutrition line-up for more details).

How to Host a Zero Waste Dinner Party
This workshop underscores the parallels between ‘zero waste’ and ‘holism’, with a focus on recipes that celebrate the whole ingredient, and sustainable party planning tips that consider the event as a whole: food, mood, styling, meaning and more.

Sarah will introduce zero-waste recipes and serving suggestions, and Alex will share her top tips on how to create the perfect ambience and aesthetic whilst taking care of the environment. The workshop will also include an introduction to ‘Kintsugi’ – the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold – so that each guest leaves with their own piece of pottery to incorporate in their next zero-waste dinner party.

In between all the goings-on of PACE, take a moment to step back and admire someone else’s craft, or listen to how they got to where they are now. Interesting stories, spellbinding skills, there’s no shortage of inspiration. Take a much needed rest in a shaded spot and let someone else do the talking.
