Climate Resilience Tax

Greece has introduced a new tax for all tourists staying in Greece from this January called the ‘Climate Resilience Tax’ and consequently, visitors will pay a “climate crisis resilience fee”. Between March and October, hotel rooms and suite prices will vary between 1.50€ and 10€ per night depending on how many stars they’re rated, and self-catered villas will be 10€ per night. The fee will be collected by your villa manager during your stay.

Following the natural disasters Greece faced last year, from forest fires to floods, this tax has been introduced to fund the reconstruction and build for the future. These taxes are required to be paid directly at the accommodation and to be invoiced separately to the accommodation.
