Our story
Vanessa Goldie and Johnny Alexander discovered this magical corner of north Zakynthos in 1989, when the roads were dirt tracks, the accommodation was a few stone cottages, and the only neighbours were a herd of goats. Sailing around Greece, they dropped anchor and decided to stay – and after many summers of friends and family visiting again and again, word spread and Peligoni was born.
The Shearer family, returning guests since the mid ’90s, took over in 2005 after falling in love with The Club’s simple and laid-back lifestyle. It was important to them to sustain the bohemian roots and preserve the magic that had drawn them there from the beginning. Over time, Peligoni has evolved into the barefoot beach club you know today, keeping its original charm all the way.
